The steel beam that we had in the West Plaza will be lowered into place signifying the end of the steel framing portion of the Student Recreation Center construction. “Topping Off” ceremonies are a tradition in construction and project management areas.
President Ramsey will speak, along with several others, before the beam is lowered into place. The beam will carry over 700 names of students, faculty and staff who signed it during it’s tenure in the West Plaza, into a place of permanence once it is lowered and welded into place. We hope you will join us for the celebration of a very significant day in our Intramural program as well as the Universities’ history. A large tent will house the ceremony as it did with the groundbreaking so don’t worry about the weather!
