Dr. Denny Golden Shares His Insights on the Profession

golden3Dr. Denny Golden, current President at Fontbonne University and former Vice President for Student Affairs at UofL, addressed friends, former colleagues, and graduate students at a recent lunch at Bellarmine University. Dr. Golden was in Louisville to speak at the College Personnel Association of Kentucky conference and agreed to share his thoughts about the Student Affairs profession at a lunch sponsored by UofL and Bellarmine University.

UofL Hosts Botswana Dignitary

10824845964_742bbebd46_zEarlier this week Dr. Jackson hosted a distinguished guest from the Botswana Embassy in Washington D.C. Mr. Barongwa Master Baipidi, or Master B as he prefers to be called,  represents a unit within the  Ministry of Education  called the Botswana Education Hub.

10824172745_202baa340f_zWhile in Louisville Master B met with various faculty and staff as well as students who had recently traveled to Botswana as part of the University of Louisville International Service Learning program. These preliminary discussions focused on possible collaborations and partnerships that would benefit Botswana as well as the University of Louisville.

Fryberger $5,000 Gift to Community Music Program

The Fryberger Greek Sing Board presents a check to the School of Music for $5000 to benefit their Community Music Program that offers scholarships for music lessons to youth in the community.  The funds were raised from the 2013 Fryberger Sing.  This is the second year assisting this philanthropic effort. Kurz Hall 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

kurz2Mrs. Heddy Kurz was on campus  last Tuesday to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the opening of both Kurz and and Billy Minardi Halls.

Mrs. Kurz was joined by members of her family as well as residence hall students and staff. Kurz Hall was named for Heddy Kurz and her late husband Herman who are generous supporters of UofL and higher education.

The celebration included free food, games, cotton candy, and more!
